Valentine’s Day is an opportunity to express love and joy for another person. It doesn't have to be limited to your significant other; you can also celebrate with friends and family. There are numerous ways to enjoy the holiday and express love in a way that is both fulfilling and exciting.

These ideas can help you be more mindful this Valentine’s Day season as well as appreciate what you have around you. If you haven’t planned anything special, that’s completely okay. Valentine’s Day can be just as meaningful even if you didn’t get a chance to book that big reservation.

If you want to deepen your connection with the person you care about the most on this holiday, here are the most intimate and fun Valentine’s Day activities.

Mindfulness Activities to Boost Your Relationship

Couple’s meditation

Couple’s Meditation shows a strong bond between you and your loved one. Here are some ways to meditate that can also deepen your relationship this Valentine’s Day.

I can find extended eye contact to be quite uncomfortable but in the space of mediating with your partner, you can learn a lot about what the other person is feeling and even discover something about yourself that can help with the relationship.

Eye contact meditation

Looking at someone in their eyes shows a part of them that you tend to miss when you are too busy to notice. Eye contact reveals the soul and it can be a bit uncomfortable if you don’t want to be ‘seen’ by anyone. Part of being vulnerable is practicing and allowing someone to see you. What are the feelings inside that you find surfacing? Does this person make you feel a sense of safety and security? After you explore the feelings that surface, tell each other about the experience and what each of you felt.

Physical touch

This doesn’t have to be a sexual setup. With physical touch, if this is your love language, you may feel rejuvenated after receiving this kind of affection.

When I was younger, I loved to read those teenage romance novels where someone is explaining their interactions with a crush. I used to adore the small details that it takes to get to know someone and fall in love with them. and when you are repeating things over and over, sometimes you begin to take these things for granted. This Valentine’s Day, be in the moment with each little touch that comes with being with your partner. That could be holding hands or touching their cheek. Moving a strand of hair from their face. It’s romantic and intimate to care for someone so tenderly no matter how long you have been together.

Gratitude

What can you do that shows someone you are grateful for them? There are many ways to express your love. You can send customized gifts that show your appreciation.

Record a video of you saying how much you appreciate and love them for who they are. If you can’t find the words to say, Here are some prompts to help you with this activity

-What is your favorite quality about your person? Physical, personality, work ethic

-When was the last time they made you laugh? What was your favorite part about that moment?

-What is something they do that calms you down?

-Is there something you have told them that you couldn’t say to anyone else? Express how you felt when you were able to be vulnerable in this situation.

-Describe the moment you first realized when you were in love. To be in love is an exceptional experience and you have this moment to express that to someone who cares. Truly invite this emotion in this answer.

-How do you feel you have improved in this relationship? What have you learned about yourself that they have taught you?

The love letter

A beautiful way to show something how much you care in such an artistic form. If you aren’t the best at conveying your feelings, that’s okay. Using a template that works for you can express what you feel for the other person.

If you are anything like me, I crave to show my feelings through poetic expression. If you struggle with this, don’t worry. Here are some tips for writing the perfect love letter.

Start with your purpose of writing the letter. Tell the person that you are inclined to write this letter so they can feel how it is to be in love from your perspective.

Be sure to include things you love about the person. You can use some of the prompts from the gratitude video to put in the love letter. Describe how they make you feel and how your life has been altered since they have been in it. You can always go the extra mile to include similes and metaphors that best describe your feelings.

Be honest. You don’t have to say anything you don’t mean. Honesty is better in the relationship and for yourself. It gives you an authentic letter and allows the person to carry your words with them because they know it comes from a true place.

Valentine’s Day Crafts

Another delightful way to celebrate Valentine's Day is by doing crafts together. Creating something beautiful and meaningful with your loved one can bring you closer and provide an opportunity for shared creativity.

There are many cute projects like making a lyric book together choosing a song that describes how you feel about your partners and personalizing it for your significant other.

Even if you aren’t artistic together, it’s still fun to have an at-home paint and sip. Dim the lights, pull out the paint, and enjoy creating with the person you love. It doesn’t have to be perfect, just fun.

So, gather your materials, let your imagination run wild, and enjoy a cozy and creative Valentine's Day at home with your partner.
