Ultimate Fall Self-Care Practices
Fall is around the corner and instead of letting this beautiful season pass you by, make the most out of it by practicing these fall self-care ideas.
Whenever the first leaf starts to change colors, it's time to start some fun activities. Every part of the year has its uniqueness and beauty about it. By embracing each part of these changes in seasons, you are not only living your life with high quality, but you are also practicing mindfulness at this particular time of the year.
Enjoy a Fall Hike
Part of the magic in fall is the changing of the leaves and the crispy autumn air. Practicing autumn self-care is experiencing autumn firsthand. I love to hike at my local tourist sites or trails. Lace up your favorite walking shoes and be in the present moment as you enter this new season.
Decorate your living space for Fall
Part of bringing in the new season is decorating your living space! This puts me in the best mood to see my surroundings matching the changing seasons. Self-care is practicing what makes you feel good inside. Here is a list of decorations I like to use when sprucing up my apartment:
Christmas Lights: These give a cozy feel to the area that makes a place feel festive.
Cozy Throw Blankets: Nothing screams fall like a cozy blanket.
Leaf Garlands: Like Christmas Lights, these are great to hang around the house for a nice fall feel.
Fall-Scented Candles: Have your space smell like fall. This candle is the epitome of fall with high reviews and a great burn!
Organize your closet to make room for fall clothes
Prepare your wardrobe for the nice fall weather. It's time to pull out the long fall boots and scarves. I enjoy fashion as a sense of character and emotion. Dressing in cute fall clothes is a great self-care idea as it makes you feel like you are ready and excited for the season.
Visit a pumpkin patch
I love visiting Pumpkin Patches. I don't celebrate Halloween, but I love Visiting a pumpkin patch with my close friends in celebration of the new season. I enjoy looking at all the big pumpkins and taking one home. It's a cute way to decorate the home and great to incorporate into the fall foods like pumpkin bread and pumpkin pie.
Create a Fall Self Care routine
Your self-care routine of relaxing or face masks doesn't have to change much, but to make it more festive, try to make it more catered to fall. If your skin gets dry in the colder weather, try looking for moisturizers that will help. Create some fall affirmations for the season that will help you enjoy every moment. Reading is a great activity year-round, but try to incorporate more reading into your daily life.
Collect fall leaves and scrapbook them
This activity is something that brings me back to high school. I used to pick flowers in the spring and take home leaves in the fall. Scrapbooking fall leaves is a delicate way to embrace the season. You can put the leaves pressed in your journal to have something from the year. Expressing sentiment is a way to remember that this life holds beauty and wonder in every moment and season.
Practice gratitude (and journal about it!)
Practicing gratitude can reduce stress and increase awareness as you are paying attention to the details in life that help you to be in the present. Mindfulness allows you to reflect on the situation as it is without judgment or predisposition. Spending time in gratitude is something that can be practiced all year long, but you can personalize this to fall as well.

Find a fall festival
Fall Festivals are a great way to enjoy the cooler weather. Creating memories means going out and experiencing fall-themed activities. Even if you seem like you don't have time or would rather not go out when I look back on the pictures of my fall activities.
Spend time with friends and family
In America, my favorite holiday is Thanksgiving because good friends, family, and food surround you. However, Thanksgiving doesn't have to be the only occasion to get together. Spend time with family and friends through this season because this boosts mental health.
Try cooking new soups or stews
After the cool summer snacks, it's a good idea to transition into making some fall-inspired soups and stews. My mother loves making butternut squat soup or even a nice savory stew that brings warmth to the body.
Take Away Trail
Fall is a time to get settled in before the cold of winter. Light sweaters and brisk walks are ways to reduce stress as you enjoy the season. Self-care can be adjusted to any time of the year, but there is something special about having a routine for a specific time. Be kind to yourself this fall season and try activities that allow you to feel full and at peace.
