What You Haven't Tried with Staying Consistent
Anything worth accomplishing requires consistency. You already have examples of consistency in your life when you have to go to school in order to earn that degree and get up every day to do that job. Here are some things you haven’t tried with staying consistent with your personal tasks whether that be drinking water every day, saying your prayers, writing in your journal, or whatever you want to do.
Downloading a Task App
Using an app is an excellent idea to stay consistent. I use the app, Structured, which helps me say my affirmations throughout the day. I like to change the wording of my affirmations so that the popups don’t get too boring to take the time to read. Whenever I see the affirmation, I take a few moments out of my very busy day to really believe in the affirmation as instructed on the app. You block off different times and even have checklists within the tasks. It’s rewarding to be able to check off a task every day.
Have an Accountability Partner
Having someone to hold you accountable is a wonderful way to stay consistent. When you are in school, you have your family and teachers and even college plans holding you accountable to study hard and do the work. When you are on a sports team, there is a coach and your teammates to help you show up to practice on time and encourage you to eat the right foods. As you get older, the number of people holding you accountable to stay consistent with your personal goals can grow smaller. This is where you have your friends and even pay a life coach to help encourage you to be consistent. One of my aspirations is to read through the Bible completely, so I text my father every day and tell him a summary of the chapter(s) I have read. This is a wonderful way to help me do it even when I’m busy because he looks for my text every day.

What is Wasting Your Time?
When you look at how you spend your time, can you find anything that may feel like a time waster? Is it social media? Is it television? What about going out a lot? Identify what takes up a lot of your time and dissect these moments. We aren't made to be productive 24/7, and you shouldn't feel guilty for relaxing. Allow yourself to relax instead of subconsciously relaxing while you cringe at the fact that you should be doing something else. Set aside time to do things you enjoy so you don't feel guilty about it later.
Visualizing the End Goal
Consistency is often inhibited by motivation. Visualize the result if you were to be consistent. If obtaining a particular look is the result, allow this to help you keep going. The more you see the changes, the more you want to continue, and when you see your actions aligning with the end goal, it definitely helps.
Take Away Trail
Tell yourself that being consistent is easy, then you are already ahead of the curve. These tips are to help you remain consistent in whatever you have in your life. In moments we showed up for other people, it may have seemed effortless because we had the expectations of others to meet. It’s time to be consistent for yourself and allow yourself to attain anything you want.
